What an effort from Chicherit yesterday ! He lost his power steering at 150km from the end ... he had to drive his buggy at the power of his hands, and manage to finish. He thought he broke his handle, but finally it's "only" sprains ...

Two died and 7 to hospital on a collision with local taxi and one Dakar service-car Two who died was on taxi (the driver and one on the front seat) 4 injured was in taxi and 3 in the servicecar... this happened after the fift stage.

Nasser attacks,he was about 10 minutes behind Peterhansel,and now at half todays stage he is behind just 3,33 at check point no6!!

Hans Stacey in a de Rooy Iveco crashed. The Dutch driver's Iveco has apparently been badly damaged after an accident (the truck rolled over forwards) after 79 km. The crew are ok, but the truck has been unable to carry on

It seems that Sainz is out (Mechanical). Roma lost 30' stuck in sand, and de Villiers 10' (same place). Pascal Thomasse was there too.
