MRF and Spanish crews were mostly low placed. Maybe they'll do better on the proper stages.

You all got that wrong, but Llarena got it right

He had to start in 22nd position, but was confident of making plenty of progress up the leaderboard throughout Friday and Saturday:

“For sure the rally is not over,” Llarena stated. “This is not like gravel, if this happened in gravel for sure you are done [from this position]. If the weather is normal it will be the same being fifth, 10th or 20th. My favourite number is 19 and I could almost choose this but 22 is okay.

“Now I have 45 minutes extra [in bed in the morning] but that’s important because we can see what the weather is doing. Six or seven years ago there was some humidity in the morning so maybe being 45 minutes behind is not bad.”

    Today he wins SS2

South-Europeans have dominated the rally so far. Only Spaniards, Frenchmen and Italians in top 6.
