PSA and FCA merger was completed last Saturday, with Stellantis official launch. For now the company aim is to keep the existing 14 brands, giving each one of them a chance to rebound. In Lancia case, one can only hope its iconic rally heritage won't be forgotten. https://motor1.com/news/467272/lanci...premium-brand/

Mergers in the international business world gives us Fewer and fewer car companies and by that fewer possibilities for manufacturers to get approval to go rallying at the top level.

And with many things happening simultaneus, it is not easy to understand where our favotite sport will be in 5 and 10 years.
What will a top notch rallycar look and feel like in 2030?

Manus concentration will continue but on the well succeded mergers most car brands are kept and revitalized, many even manage a return to motorsport. Now it's up to the FIA and the promoter to convince them joining the WRC, instead of other series.

Btw, even if only as a privateer, it's worth mentioning that Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares (former PSA boss and a known petrolhead) was about to enter RMC Historic at the whell of an ex-Munari Stratos (after running classic Peugeot models in previous years).

Think pub is a safe place. With all these mad debates in the last few days, I think I have an idea for the future of WRC. Grab hold of your drink and be ready to go bottoms up.

In order to eliminate all "stupid rules", go for maximum safety and be environmentally friendly, the WRC needs to go fully online competition. Besides eliminating pointless liaisons with all their drama and boredom, it would also eliminate the need for manufacturer involvement and cost of entry would be so low that even all the Joes could take part. And as the "cars" would be on equal footing, only the true talent would shine. Also we'd have all those cool looking cars with the nice liveries. Etc etc.

Would be thousands of seconds penalty for cutting, though...

You'd just place pushes that work like invisible concrete blocks in those places. Far easier to alter the world you control compared to the real world

"R5 should be main class because it´s more equal"

Top 10 overall Monte were seperated by:
    1.Ogier
    10.Camilli +10.41

    Top 10 RC2/Rally2/R5
    1.Mikkelsen
    10.Burri +13.24
(if we count only WRC2/3 then it´s +16.58)

    (Don´t take this too seriously)
