It’s great to see Lappi close to his dream win in Finland and Sunninen in P2. Hope both managed to keep positions till the end. Nice job from Evans today. Bad luck for Latvala and Veiby. Huttunen has been fantastic in WRC2 and so has Ciamin in JWRC. It’s always nice to see young talented guys being noticed, and this rally seems to be all about it.
Don’t think so, not in recent years at least and if we take off the first couple of WRC seasons, the closest we get is probably Toivonen in 1980 RAC (first win on his 4th WRC outing for Talbot Sunbeam, still he had a few WRC private entries in top Gr. 4 cars the previous years).Rally addict since 1982

Nope. This was issue with electronics and in Poland there was "wrong object" stuck pushing the throttle pedal and he tried to cope with clutch and burned it. It was called as "human error". I don't think Latvala will ever tell more precisely what the object was.
In Red Bull TV Bosse translated JM's words "not same again" which he meant it like "technical issue again" and not like exact same issue. Leading commentator guy made it into form of "same issue as in Poland".

Should the stage marshal be reminded he be aiming to be keeping crews and spectators safe? All fun and damaged bank accounts (from car damage) until someone gets hurt.
Why could the stage official not notify the start of the stage to fore warn the crews of the potential danger at that point of the stage? or were the drivers crashing for fun?

Watching this made me cringe. I've rallied a few events as a navigator in the states. If there's a tricky section we were notified if more than one car had an issue. These were all club rallies, but after the first three cars it should be noted.

These guys DO have notes and they do get to do a 2 pass recce .
Problem is following lines of the previous cars and thatäs something the brain tends to do...We all know drivers have microscopic brains and very big feet.
You have a co+driver yappping all kinds of mostly jibberish so he feels he's contributing and meanwhile the EYES see the tire marks of those who have gone before..
Eyes win over ears, one car goes off good and leaving nice tracks----more going to follow..John Vanlandingham
