It's Esapekka Lappi in the lead of the rally after day 1.

Does anyone else have the feeling that we might have to get used to the above for years to come?

I hope, but to take a recent example Paddon was praised as the man to beat Ogier after Argentina last year, so let's keep the hopes up and the hype down.

Not 100 % sure, since so much noise on the background, but I think we had a Marcus Grönholm moment.

In live TV he said to JML tht the one corner is damp and slippy, the rest is okay. And then while commentating live , JML went wide in that corner.
I think (not 100 % sure) Bosse said: "Saatana, I just told him about that corner."

Surprising day, 5 of the 6 pre-rally victory aspirants are out of the contention. Nice to see Finns locking out the top 3, feels like the old days.

Bad day for Neuville, cleaning a little bit maybe, but I feel like he's just off the pace today and things wouldn't have been much different if he wasn't first on the road. Probably his first proper bad day this season where he tries but the times aren't there. Possibilities to try something different tomorrow.

Yes it will be hard but he took the same margin from sordo today. And now just 40 secs behind meeke while it was over a minute down at one point.

We shall see, but I wouldn't take it for granted.
