Rally Australia 2016
First details of 2016 itinerary have emerged. Full itinerary has not yet been published as I type this.
The 3 areas used on Friday, Saturday & Sunday are the same as they were in 2015. It appears that many stages will have modifications to them
Friday - "Bakers Creek" stage in Taylors Arm area, also "Newry 16" presumably a modified version of Newry stage run in previous years
Saturday - will include "Valla" and "Nambucca" stages which were used on Saturday in 2015
Sunday - "Bucca 16" stage presumably a modified configuration of previous years, will run in morning loop only. "Wedding Bells" stage will run twice once in the morning and then again in afternoon as Power stage. Wedding Bells is expected to be changed from previous years with cars passing the spectator village twice. Power stage is scheduled for 1.08pm local time which should make it live breakfast TV for much of Europe
Super Specials - a middle of day Super Special Stage will occur at "Raleigh Raceway" in middle of day on both Friday and Saturday. Friday & Saturday early evenings will see a return of the "Coffs Jetty" super special in same area as 2011 SSS was held.Last edited by KiwiWRCfan; 15th July 2016 at 05:11. Oops, the Nambucca and Valla stages have been left off the overall map but thankfully they are still on the itinerary.

No night stage this year then. Not worth the hassle for anyone involved.

A friend drove the shakedown stage earlier in this week - reports are that the road is very rough with trees down after recent wet weather.

Wonder how Hyundai will line up. Sordo has to be in the main team because he has only started 9 events(including GB) in the main team, because China was cancelled, and since he's their nominated driver he must start at least 10. Surely Paddon was promised the main team in Australia, but would you drop Neuville to the second team when he's the best performer for Hyundai at the moment? The constructors champion will probably be crowned in GB but I still wonder.
Hyundai must be relieved there will be a new point scoring system for manufacturers next year....
Solberg to Toyota would surprise me a lot, what would happen to Pajari in that case?
