It makes no sence only one log to stick out HALF! its size off the pile at the end of the very first row.
I know very well how logs are lining along the road.
I see them every day but I've never seen a single log sticking out off a pile HALF! its size. Never!

It's like a pitfall.

The more I watch it the more I suspect that this ONE log could be pulled OUT by someone on purpose.

So, spectators in the middle of the road at SS1 were probably foreigners and a bad placed log is a natural part of the scenery...come on!

For safety reasons, I've seen on other WRC events people obliged to move their cars parked further from the road than that forgotten log, and SS delayed or canceled because of spectators behavior. It seems that in GB Rally security standards are much more permissible...

Probably, "if" it was Meeke instead of Neuville all british rally fans were now asking why on earth wasn't that log removed.

Well, let's just hope for an incident free final day and a miraculous opportunity for Meeke to beat Ogier...Go Kris!

So if Gilsoul couldn't see why stop so far away without going to verify, let alone provide assistance if needed? Or was there a marshal up there holding them? As for the time stopped, to me it looked like less than 31 seconds plus how many did VW ask for before they got 31?

VW wouldn't have asked for any amount. They would ask for a stewards review. The stewards would check the incar video, and would be able to tell exactly how much had been lost.
