2008 Irc Provisional Calendar
The 2008 provisional IRC calendar looks like this:
• 21-23 March (Kenya) Safari Rally (g)
• 09-10 May (Portugal) Rally Portugal (g)
• 27-28 June (Belgium) Ypres Westhoek Rally (a)
• 11-12 July (Russia) Rally Russia (g)
• 01-02 August (Portugal) Rally Vinho di Madeira (a)
• 22-23 August (Czech Rep.) Barum Rally Zlin (a)
• 12-13 September (Spain) Principe de Asturias Rally (a)
• 25 -27 September (Italy) Rally Sanremo (a)
• 24-25 October (Switzerland) Rally du Valais (a)
• 7-9 November (China) Rally China (g)
What do you think about it, any rally you would like to see added on ?
Is 6 Asfalt and 4 gravel events the right mix, or should that change. Do we need a Snow-Rally on the IRC calendar ?

I am surprised there are two events in Portugal. And I am happy, that there arent 12 events, as they wanted...

I always think rallying looks more spectacular on gravel, so for me the mix isn't correct. That's purely a personal preference, however, and I doubt it really matters. Originally Posted by Sulland
I like the idea of a snow-based rally. On the WRC Sweden's been a bit mixed in recent times, particularly the mud of a couple of years ago. Rally Norway has proven successful, though.

There were rumors that the snow-rally candidate to enter the IRC is the Arctic Rally. Perhaps in 2009 ...

It wasnt rumour. Arctic Rally is IRC Supporter Event. It isnt candidate event, it is promotion for IRC... Originally Posted by Eyvind

It's an event, that has media support and coverage by Eurosport, but doesn't belong to IRC series. It's brand new model, that will begin in 2008.

And at all of these events will be run "BF Goodrich Challenge" - any crews using BFG tyres can match points in this miniseries.

Really waiting for rally Portugal to see Meeke's pace! Oliver will have proper challenge.. as Meeke smashed others.. yes, had puncture.. but still DOMINATED :D
