Question WRC.com to be relaunced as a free site (allegedly)

Stumbled upon this blog entry: http://pixellove.wordpress.com/2007/...p-interactive/

WRC.com, currently a subscription site, will be relaunched on 1 January as a free website, following the acquisition of the commercial rights
by N.One, the digital arm of North One TV, which produces the site’s TV content.
The new site will be heavily promoted on TV and feature more than 200 hours of on-board and rally footage filmed by North One TV.
Sounds good lets hope it happens

About time! I wouldn't pay for their service, just not worth the price.

Too bad we have to wait until next year.

    Cool.

I was determined not to pay the $30 odd pound a year for a subsciption ($100 Australian when it was launched) which is a heck of a fee IMO for content that you can get elsewhere if you look hard enough and have patience.

If this rumour is true, then it can only be a good thing as I wouldnt mind having the extra content at hand.

Good news.. another option to have. It didnt really offer anything new than what was available for free elsewhere making it a no-brainer. The membership numbers will probably double, but with advertising being the only revenue for them, I cant see the quality being improved much.. hope Im wrong.

As a free site, the casually interested joe in the street could log on & develop a greater passion for this great sport.

By making it a pay site, only the current dedicated fan would be interested.
