I know something: it looks nice for a Lada, must be the most modern model they ever made!!

It's in homologation process right now also problem is that Kalina does not have 1600 16v engine in stock, just plans to produce it, so untill the stock model won't be on sale, there's no luck to see Kalina 1600 on track, only N3 and R2 versions.. But as the Vaz guys says, things gonna be sorted by spring 2008

There is no sense to make s1600 car, because this category UNFORTUNATELY is dying. It will be better for Lada to develop R2 or R3 cars.
The car looks much better than previous cars (both S2000 and 1600 kit-car). BTW - what is the situation with Lada S2000 program?http://www.rallymadness.prv.pl - true rallying is here! :)

They are, in spring they gonna put om production Kalina R2 version, something like hot hatch lada, and they plan to use it as a base for R2 group..
Dunno about s2k, in latest interview the head of Vaz sports team replied on s2000 question as a real politician - lots of words, but no sence.. Hope they will come up with something in future\"Dopelar Effect: The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when you approach them quickly enough.\"

Langdale Forest: R2 and R3 are new FIA classes...
R2 is basicly up to 1,6 liter normaly aspirated engine with possible sequentional gearbox. All possible modiffications from production cars are in FIA propositions. There could also be a car with engine of 1,4 liter if the emounth of modiffications is more then as for R1 (R1 is almost the same as N1). So all A5 cars will be R2 too in the future I think. No body Kit is possible. Citroën C2 R2 is R2 car.
R3 is a car with up to 2.0 liter normaly aspirated engine and with sequentional gearbox, big brakes etc. but without body kit. These cars have higher level of modiffications than R2. Now they are for example like narrow A7 cars. New R3 cars are Renault Clio and Honda Civic Type-R.
S1600 is neither R2 nor R3 because S1600s have too much modiffications and wide body.
I understand it that way that R1 is like N1, R2 contains N2, A5, some A6 and R3 contain some A6, N3 and some A7 cars. I hope I'm not wrongStupid is as stupid does. Forrest Gump
