'He noted that he won eight out of the 13 races in the championship, becoming the rider with the highest number of wins at the same championship. “I raced the last leg of the World Supersport Motorbike Championship at France’s Magny-Cours racecourse. I became the rider with the highest number of wins in a single season in the world."

'Same championship' may refer to WSS? I think Charpentier may have won more than 8 races in a single season?

Plenty of other riders have - Doohan, Rossi, Stoner, Lorenzo come to mind.

yes he is talking about WSS and no Charpentier did not win 8 races in a season he won 6 races both times. Muggeridge however won 7 races from a 10 races season in 04

worldsbk.com reports that Team Hannspree Honda Althea Confirmed Gianluca Nannelli for WSS. Craig Jones is expected to ride alongside Nannelli with an official announcement expected shortly.

they also say that the team has lined up just one rider, Roberto Rolfo, for the World Superbike Championship.

Well no-one saw that coming! Hopefully the Sterilgarda is reliable - it certainly is fast - and maybe it's a stepping stone back to MotoGP with Ducati in 2009?
