Cool FIA GT champions at Le Mans 2007

For Le Mans 2007, the ACO invited the 1st and second in both classes of the FIA GT 2006 :

in GT1 : Team Vitaphone (Maserati MC12) and the factory supported, Aston Martin Racing BMS (DBR9), but for the Vitaphone, they are not allowed to compete with the MC12 !!

in GT2, the Factory Ferrari team, AF Corse and the Scuderia Ecosse, both with the F430 GTC will be at Le Mans !

its good to see the teams get in from the FIA-GT. but why is the maserati not allowed to compete in GT1, would that be an unfair advantage to the car being at high speed course
Brian France is a violation of Section 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing)

The FIA GT and ACO GT classes are not identical and the MC12 isn't ACO-legal.

flase, both FIA GT and ACO have the same classes in GT racing, GT1 and GT2, and they have the same cars, in exception of the Maserati MC12, which is illegal for ACO, while in FIA competition its the champion !

that car run in the ALMS (Risi Competizione), but it didnt score any point, as its not legal

for Le Mans 2007, the Vitaphone Racing could run the old Saleen S7-R, they run it (with Konrad Motorsport) in FIA GT in 2004

The Maserati was designed more like a prototype than a GT1 car and the ACO didnt like that (same goes for eveyone else too). The FIA allowed it to race in its series but not anyware else, except for the ALMS who wanted bigger grids. Would be interesting to see what they do if they accep the ACO's invitation.

in my opignon the FIA accepted this "closed prototype" as a GT racer, in order to satisfy Ferrari, because its obvious that its a supercar and ahs nothing to do with GTs
