Smile If points were given for qualifying...

During the winter break we have now enough time to make all kinds of explorations.

If points were also given for qualifying performances, then the Qualification WDC standings would look like that (didn't have willing to compute more results than those from the last six seasons).

Starting at the from the front is already a massive advantage and especially at somewhere like Monaco or Hungaroring where passing is difficult at the best of times.

Maybe qualifying should be used as the next statistic after no. of race wins in the event of equal points?
The Old Republic was a stupidly run organisation which deserved to be taken over. All Hail Palpatine!

That would be a good idea, if it weren't for the qualifying fuel load issues which plays a huge part.

What is the current statistic used after race wins? # of laps led?

Qualifying means nothing. With variable fuel loads and race strategies, quali times are just another statistic that dont really matter.
