About Fabia S2000... the project was allowed by VW representatives in the autumn, I think. So it is not 2 years of work. Maybe about a half of one because the blue car from auto show was not a prototype but only demonstrator built by using existing parts from other cars. And as Karbonyl said, Mr. Hrabanek, new Škoda Motorsport boss, said to develop the car together with CRT and maybe to have a factory team in 2009 season.
Fabia WRC is not competitive car and it never was a competitive car. Unfortunately.
About Pech's crash... I think it is his first crash from a 2004 Jänner rally where he rolled his Focus WRC.Stupid is as stupid does. Forrest Gump

I'm surprised you guys think the Fabia is not and never was competitive. Look at Jan's times from Deutschland today, for sure he is an excellent tarmac driver, perhaps one of the best, but the car is 2 years old and he is mostly well under 1 s/km from the top. Perhaps if this car had been driven and setup properly in 2005 when it was launched things could have been different, but that is a different story!
As far as the S2000 goes, there are some good thoughts there. On the other hand testing is no substitute for competition... and autumn 2006 to summer 2008 is all but 2 years of development. However if this approach works and it can win from the start I will be more than happy

Unfortunately I could see dyno charts from Fabia's WRC and I must say that it's engine was very weak (in that time I saw it). The worst one was 03 version which was even weaker than Octavia or Corolla...

Yesterday Chris Ingram posted he was doing a shakedown of the Polo R5 so it seems he's continuing in that car for the Jim Clark. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C7OEfYKoYV1/?igsh=czZzYzB1dm9zeHd4 ...
