    So far this year I've lost a total of 8.6kg and I've been using the turbo trainer a lot so I'm now cycling at least three times per week. And with the weightloss and extra training I've felt the difference when I've been outside riding. I'm no faster in total but rather those bits of road where I always struggled I'm finding easier, which is amazing.

    I've found that the results on the exercise increase even more once you get the weight loss over with. That calorie deficit can slow you down on training sometimes. Those extra calories help fuel you better much of the time.

    I've considered dropping another few pounds but if I do it will probably be in the cooler months after summer.

    In the end I 'accomplished' one of my targets despite my knees not being in tip top shape. Between last Thursdays and today (Wednesday) I managed 101 km... so that's 101 km in 7 days... that's sort of a week. I don't know when am I going to go for the next points in my project... which I like to call "The conquest of the f****** useless" but for the time being I'll go back to normal running. I am pretty tired.

    Good Lord BB, when do you find the time?! .

    Lately my weekly average has been barely half that (190kms in the last 30 days ).

    It's been unusually hot here lately. I went for a trail run in 28 deg temps yesterday and promptly turned around and went home and had a beer instead .

    We had the Easter this weekend over here and since I had no plans I just went for long runs... and one thing led to another... I realized I could do it, so I did it

    Just realised it is only three weeks until I had planned to do a (slow) cycle around Ben Nevis. Looks like it'll be a tough few weeks ahead....

    The event I've entered in September is I think 68km......... Had been thinking of doing a slow recce so I can at least get an idea of where I'm meant to be going
    We'll see. Weather is looking half decent at last so will be out this weekend and take it from there...

    The other day I went to take my bike out for the first time in months, but obviously had to inflate the tires first. For the life of me I couldn't find the valve stem adapter (that I could have sworn I left with the pump).

    So I went inside and had a beer instead .

    I'm running a 10k in July. Managed 5 k the other day in about 23 minutes.
    Tazio 14/3/2015: I'll give every member on this forum 1,000.00 USD if McLaren fails to podium this season!
