Care to elaborate? From what I've read, I've understood that he didn't have to pay for it but maybe I misread.

Asmer has a lot of money behind him which helped him get the seat not all sponsorship. Nothing is free in motorsport either especially for a driver of Asmer's ability.

This article states that next year Asmer will be the team's "first driver" and can take part in some F-Nippon races as well. He had offerings from British F3 as well but there he would have had to pay £100k and in Japan he doesn't have to pay a dime. Also, he thinks that in Japan he has better chances to develop to higher classes without having to have a lot of money.

If F1 is not your goal, use that money on the CC Atlantic Series. We'd love to have somenone who seems so determined to race in America. Plus, you have the 2 million dollar bonus for winning the Championship. Did well for Jacques Villeneuve.

Thanks a lot, but Atlantic is over our league, I think I would die at 3G braking, but for now Star Mazda and F3 are good for us, I want to race in Star Mazda and my team mate wants to race in F3.

F1 is out of our reach, our dream to be professional race drivers in any series we enjoy.

    Thanks,
    Fahad
