Again I am amazed why Hyundai chose Mikkelsen for this rally.

Very weird, they should have put him on gravel. At least then he could have a chance for something. Makes him look worse than he actually is.

I think the idea, tarmac "specialist", is that of the two (Mikkelsen and Lappi") he is the driver with more positive experience on this surface. So if you should pick rallies this makes more sense. But Mikkelsen is very slow when both conditions and feeling with the car are poor. I hope we will see more postive pace later, here he had an overshoot.

Hyundai also has Sordo signed on, don't they?

Hmm. Lots of mess on the road in WRC2. Rossel was good, and Greensmith looked good for a guy who thought he had a puncture, but Gryazin went like a rocket.

Lots of tyre choices in play, which won't unwind until the end of the loop.

Pajari looking more committed than he did on the tarmac at Monte (not driving for points in either).

Given the way the field has spread out, Evans not doing too badly compared to Neuville.

It was funny when Ingrassia said that he thought the current WRC1 hybrids are too different from WRC2 for new drivers to get the hang of them, and that he politely disagreed with Thierry Neuville about that, and then a few seconds later we had the footage of Mikkelsen overshooting the corner.
