But this is more smooth tarmac, quite a difference to Corsica which he was relatively okay in, back in the day. Will be a tricky one for him, he hasn't done the event since 2018 and as a consequence he doesn't have the experience of the rally being full tarmac like the rest of the crews. It's going to be tough for him & Paul, fingers crossed, this time they can end Paul's (WRC) co-driving career on a high.
Only you know your true potential.
    This year we rally #ForCraig

But we haven't seen that speed in Croatia, or Ypres this year. To me it seemed like he was fast in Ypres last year because he had that advantage and this year it wasn't there anymore.

And yeah, Catalunya hasn't been a good event for Craig.

My reaction was to the topic if he can be fast only on national level or also international. Not if he can win in Catalunya.

I just don't see any good international tarmac results apart from Sanremo 2010, Ypres 2019 and Ypres 2021. Or are Galway etc. now international rallies?

It is not so easy to find events with this charateristics in WRC. But we can mention also Circuit of Ireland 2016 and 2015, Rallye du Valais 2015...

But it is not only about the results, but about the speed. On such type of surface, he is capable to make good stage times.

The title fight is over and maybe the excitement is also gone but IMO we have really interesting rally ahead.

Nobody doesnt have to hold back anymore and can go flat-out, no tactics or games anymore. The favourites in my eyes are Rovanperä, Tänak, Neuville and Ogier but i cant put a certain bet which one of them will win it. We know how good Kalle is this season, now the pressure is also gone. Ott has been in fantastic form the second half of the season and he has been 2nd and 1st on two tarmac events this year, Thierry has won the event past 2 years and he is always very fast on tarmac, Ogier is for sure pissed off he doesnt a win yet this season and is going for it.

Tänak can also secure his 2nd position in the championship if he gets 1 point more than Thierry at the end of the rally and Evans doesnt get more than 27 points than Tänak.

Looks like some heavy rain tomorrow on Friday stages, but fairly dry albeit cloudy during the event.
