Apparently the wrc promotor still uses horses.

50 years ago people all over the world watched neil armstrong set foot on the moon. Live. From 300.000km's away.
Nowadays there seems to be no way to make a stable connection beween a camera that is places a few kilometers into a forest and the nearest internet acces point.

Either we have gone backwards, or the promotor just doesn't care.

Sorry but I'm a bit tired of these complaints. I have never arranged a rally myself but I can say I have studied the rules and many itineraries pretty extensively. It's not as simple as you might think, refuels and things like that need to be arranged.

SS2 and SS3 were practically across the road so they started concurrently. To SS4 there's 90 km of liaison. Google Maps gives an estimated driving time of 1:45 from the end of SS3 to SS4 start. If the stages would have been spread more evenly, SS3 would have started later and you wouldn't have noticed.

Also, SS4 and SS5 are classic stages closer to mid Wales with a different character and I think it's worth the liaison instead of doing more of the narrow technical stuff in North Wales.

EDIT: Here you can study the itinerary https://d2cx26qpfwuhvu.cloudfront.ne...te-1.5.1-1.pdf and there is indeed a refuel after SS3 and the liaison from SS3 to SS4 is 85 km.

EDIT2: Fast Eddie WRC should also study the Thursday itinerary and say again how reasonable it would have been to run SS1 any earlier.

Where did you see complaint? Just statement of fact. Or smalltalk. Or even if it is ment as a complaint then surely it is nothing worth getting upset about. I believe all members of this forum know thing or two about rally schedules. Surely such complaint is not meant 100% as complaint without hint of humor. Slightly off-topic - as avid reader, another book from one of my favorite series came out last week. Less than 12 hours later there were posts in authors page asking when would next part be about and "why not tomorrow". Nobody started to explain process of bookwriting and publishing, everybody understood that it is just humorous expression of frustration of having to wait for several months before next one.

PS Sorry if i misunderstood you and you tried to be funny instead of being seriously annoyed.

Well, four hours is four hours. Use to be two or two and a half hours. So...

Wasn´t the formula WRC should be more for the spectators and media? This isn´t the way to it. Just my thoughts...

Here is how that "four hours rest" is actually used

1:42 for 81 km of liaison from SS5 end to technical zone entry
21 min for technical zone / regroup
    42 min for service
48 min for 36 km of liaison from service to SS6 with a refuel on the way
