Purchasing a Helmet as a Gift. Any Advice.

I'd like to get a helmet for my brother. I'll give him a gift on his 40th bday. I'm looking around but confused on what to buy. What type of helmet should I purchase? I want a secured one or the one that gives protection.

What will he use it for? Riding a motorcycle? Racing a car? As an ornament?

A helmet is a very personal gift. Fit, viewing angle, etc. are all individual. A poorly fitted helmet is as bad as no helmet. You should NEVER buy one without trying it on. Instead of buying a helmet, I'd do a gift certificate for the place that sells the helmet and let your brother take it from there.

    I second this.

I looked like Paris Hilton trying on shoes when I bought mine.
