Jorge Martinez is 5 times Chilean Rally Champion, if I'm not mistaking. This should be the first year R5 cars are allowed in this championship, I've also read there was going to be a DS3 R5 competing there...

    Entry list: http://anarerally.cl/DOCS/CONCEPCION...EPCION2018.pdf

    Map: http://anarerally.cl/IMAGES/CONCEPCI...neralEDIT3.pdf

A total of 7 R5 cars (2 Peugeot 208, 3 Fiesta, 1 Citroen DS3 and 1 Mitsubishi Mirage). This will be the first season that the R5 cars are allowed, in 2017 Pedro Heller ran all the rounds with a 208 R5 but just as a guest.

Chaleco Lopez is the former Dakar motorbike driver. In the last few seasons he competed in RallyMobil in 2wd cars (I think he won the R2 class in 2017).

Pedro Heller is the WRC2 competitor since last season. Alberto Heller is his brother and Felipe Rossi is his cousin. This will be Alberto's and Rossi's first event in the R5.

Rosselot is from a traditional rally family from Chile, he won some Championships in the N4 class.

Israel will also debut in the 4wd class. In the last years he competed with a DS3 R3.

Besides the R5, the R2 and R3 classes are strong, with a good entry list (considering South American parameters).

In RallyMobil, all classes use Cooper tyres.

Unfortunately, Chile's event started with a small setback. Shakedown was cancelled (I don't know the exact reason). And, from what I could read, this same section would be used on one stage that would run once on Saturday and once on Sunday.

From what I could see on social media, the organization is trying to make sure that they don't have problems with spectators. I've seen a big amount of posts trying to alert people to don't spectate on forbidden places, etc.

It looks like the reason for the cancellation of the shakedown and for a section of one of the stages was because a group of environmentalists that took some measures to block the rally in those roads.

About starting list, in Chile they always run in reverse order, with the 2ed starting first and then the bigger classes.

Jorge Martinez had problems with power sterring on SS 1 and lost a lot of time to Heller. On the second day he was only 4,8 seconds behind Heller, considering that this was his first event in a R5 car and he was with the 208 R5.

Pedro Heller won with a 3 minute lead over 2nd place Benjamin Israel (Ds3) and Martinez was 3rd.

Emilio Rosselot won the R3 class (DS3).

Martin Scuncio won the R2 class (208).

I forgot to say in my previous message that there will also be 2 Skoda Fabia running the Championship. They didn't compete in Concepción because they are already in Argentina for the WRC. One car will be driven by Critobal Vidaurre and the other by Alejandro Cancio (Argentine).
