I think you’re missing the point, NOT.... the delay is so the organisers can cut the feed after they may have witnessed a bad accident, but before it is broadcast on the world feed.
I imagine they wouldn’t want the images of a car hitting a crowd turning up on everyone’s tv or laptop, should such a distaster ever happen again. Much better that they have a buffer so that they can pull the plug on the coverage, should they need to.

Guys, there's a short delay so that the commentators would have time to react. There's a delay between the camera, plane and the outside broadcast (OB) unit. There's a delay between OB, the satellite and wherever it is "downloaded" for streaming server. Also when watching TV there's a different delay for different service providers (terrestial, cable or over internet). It takes time to process and deliver all of that data. And as mentioned here some TV channels have their own delay for whatever safety reason.
Someone said that the delay started after the fatal accident in Monte Carlo. That's wrong. There was delay already in 2014. I noticed it when following the live maps and power stage. Bouffier crashed out in Germany. Saw him off the road on the maps long before the WRC Plus stream got to that moment.Never stop dreaming because one day it might happen.

Exciting to see who made the best pacenotes in the middle section of SS11/15 tomorrow. 30 meters visibility on 1st pass of recce, but 2nd pass was clear. Anyway, who will trust their own notes best if it gets foggy tomorrow! #WRClive#8 Ott Tänak - Martin Järveoja #8

Given the delay to the All 'Live' pictures, they really need to improve the info and speed of the splits and finish times so that at least it seems live.
I'd then just watch the stream instead of looking for the times elsewhere...

SAT 08:10 - EYES ON THE SKIES
The weather is mixed to say the least this morning, SS9 is clear and fine but SS10 is blanketed in fog after the 10km mark on the 16km long test
