Because Tanak/ MJ gave 'outside physical assistance' to Ogier. Only the organisers probably could have done that within the rules.
Therefore Ogier's timecard incident is likely to result in some type of penalty, potentially disqualification - What is similar Makinen(dsq) getting help to change the tyre at the Safari from the locals? https://www.nation.co.ke/news/1056-4...btz/index.html

But KKS was writing about LATE penalty, which is different. Ogier was in time in TC with his timecard. Of course, penalty from stewards should be s different story.

And there is question, if bringing timecard by different crew is a problem against rules. I think that this is not completely clear according to regulations and it depends mainly on the stewards what they will want to find there...

I don't think that this can be considered as an outside assistance. In my opinion this incident happened within a grey zone not clearly defined by the rules.

Is the Ogier incident like the Dakar Rally and like the Peterhansel saga. The French language rule interpretation will have to be checked against the English language rule translation ?

The WRC rule books and technical regulations s provided to the wrc teams are likely to be more detailed than the pdf wrc rules posted online?
