That's questionable as Lappi drove with broken damper.

Yeah but Sordo drove with ok car just slowly to save it and was slower.

Clearly it would be a problem to give them Evans time so that they gain alot against drivers who actually drove the stage (they already gain vs Sordo this way). Using that thinking they even could have gotten the time of slowest WRC without big issues (Sordo).

So this is a compromise both ways.

You're kidding, right? Sordo was on "slick" tyres on that stage, but that is his problem, Meeke got a deliminated tyre, also his problem. IMO the times are not fair enough.

Not only all the other contenders having offs and issues, but he even gets away with soft tyres and has them becoming 'slicks' on the tarmac SSS for a bigger lead...

An ULTRA lucky day for Neuville !

IMHO they need to come up with a single, consistent rule for how to assign nominal times in cases like these. It doesn't matter if it wrongly penalizes the drivers; that's just bad luck, which is a part of the sport.

What cannot be allowed to continue is the current inconsistent, arbitrary system, which is vulnerable to corruption and favoritism.

The times cannot be fair since they didn't drive the stage Giving them time that jumps 3 drives who drove trough the hard stage is not really fair to those 3 drivers either is it?

Evan's time is the best possible time they can get. Sordo is the worst one, anything between is compromise.

Would be most fair yes, but there is no clear rule atm afaik.
