At least one of the rocks was there when Neuville went through. He passed to the inside of it (and maybe dislodged some other rocks?).

Neuville hit the sharp one too, his car also lifts at the front, not as much as Tanak's. Neuville was on the throttle, perhaps that saved him.

Yeah loosing so little today and looking at his last year speed he is now the main favorite.

That said Hyundai and Neuville especially had very often bad friday morning only to be faster and faster over the weekend.

At rally Finland I have seen every year that the marshals throw the stones away right away. I remember one very well on ruuhimaki Shakedown one year when a big stone came out onto the racing line and the marshal jumped right away after the car into the track and threw the stone away.
