    Question 400/012 wrc

    Hi,

I don't know if anyone can help me, I'm going through the regs for the world rally championship 2017. 'VO valid for 400/01 WRC' .

Could someone help me what this means or let me know there I can find this?

    Cheers
    Ben

Only basic frame of the regulations is publicly available. Specific details are part of the homologation regulations which are available to the manufacturers but aren't published on FIA website.

In this particular case VO means optional variant of some part/system (the acronyms are usually from French). The meaning of the number code is not known to me.

I struggle to understand how the availability of the rules and regs--all of them--- to be read by anybody is something that should be restricted..
When did this act of brilliance come about?
What possible point could there be?

Sorry, I am not old enough to remember when homologation regulations were publicly available. For sure it's more than 10 years a go.
