Yes, he wants to carry his leadership in the ERC to the end of the season without taking unnecessary risks. But 8th place after day 1 doesn't look very good for two times European champion.

Interesting highlights from the fierce competition in Junior ERC. You can see problems of Ingram and Munnings, the crash of Huttunen, that ended in the water and a veeeeery big moment for Aleks Zawada:

Looks like Lukyanuk has given up the fight this morning. Great performance this weekend though.

I am in an extremely fast corner over a small crest on the wide road on Pindula. Kresta the only one flat out but with a bit of high speed drift. Some drivers with wrong lines - Botka or Vlček.

Great fights behind the very top.

From quotes: (4 - Lukyanuk Alexey / Arnautov Alexey): Yes, to be honest, I feel terribly inside. I have pain in my leg, in my muscles, it is hard to be working properly today, that is my feeling. There is nothing we can do now, just to continue like that. I am really struggling so we cannot push 100% but we are happy to be here now.

It's true that competitors so far didn't put a pressure on Kajto but such Kajto's approach (just collect the points without any risks) gives him nothing for the future. Every sponsor asks himself a question: "what is the promise this driver giving me for the season I'm going to pay for?"
Looking at Kajto's current season the answer is "Nothing".

I think that this is the last serious season in rallying for Kajto - he's too weak for WRC2, to strong for country championships in Poland and fighting for 4th ERC title doesn't rather make sense.
