Kamaz rescues Loeb/ Elena from the sand hole. I thought hit another bump afterwards in the stage which damaged Elena.

Shame we never will probably get to see Loeb with a gnarly fit youthful experienced ex-bike rider navigator who can read the dunes in a zen like manner.
The Motorcyclist who Peterhansel hit last year breaking his leg, pushed his bike into the bivouac after stage 4 this year after the front sprocket came off and jammed into the swingarm.

SS5 Another tough day... Right after the start of the stage it was a lot of difficult drops from the dunes and one of them surprised me a little bit. We had a big impact and I really hurt my neck on that one. It was so painful after that I just couldn’t drive
Every little bump was hurting so much that I just came out with the first gear in the first part of the dunes. By doing that we got stuck three times. A proper disaster day! Let’s hope that tomorrow will be kinder.

Nani Roma today was out of hospital.

    Get well soon guys!

Easy first part of today’s stage. Small differences everywhere.
Really happy with the performances of the Dutch guys. Ten Brinke excellent and also van Merksteijn really consistent so far. Happy for them after the last two terrible times he went and retired within a few days including the one we joined them!

Saw this earlier. Having a hard time believing that was done by a competitor in this year's Dakar...

This is a truly astonishing pic by the guys at @AtWorldMA from the Dakar. To fully appreciate the height and severity of the drop zoom in on the truck in the top right hand corner.
