    Qualifying

Fred is third fastest after his run. We'll see how it stands up at the end.

He ended up 7th. I'm looking forward to tomorrow. It will be extraordinary if he qualified in the top 3!
    Too bad about Bourdais
Sebastien Bourdais suffered "multiple fractures to his pelvis and a fracture to his right hip" after a horror crash during qualifying for the Indy 500.

Not so fun for Bourdais. That was a nasty hit, glad its only that much (relatively speaking) damage. Fred looked very smooth on his run, especially for a rookie.

Fred has been incredibly methodical in his approach. Of course having a car, and team capable of running (starting) at the front helps. The one thing he can't control is luck, and in this race it will be a factor!

As will drafting and running in traffic on an oval, which is something he is not really used to.

Almost reminded me of Gordon Smiley's fatal qualifying crash in 82'. Glad we didn't get the same result.
