Well if having 4 times WC in the team and leading both championships isn't enough to get Ford back, then they will never come.

As I wrote multiple times I am really worried M-Sport will go full money making and only go with cheap/pay drivers with lineup like Evans, Camili, Suninen. They did this multiple times in the past (2003, 2005). So we will possible have only 3 competitive teams again (pending Citroen improvement).
