This must be a joke, right? Since when have these kind of things been compensated?

Not much of a fan of that either, things like this happen all the time, specially to drivers further down the field. Don't remember many people getting time compensation for so small time losses. But yes those 15s he got are "fair" if you look at spilts vs Ogier and Sordo before and after.

Four stages seen today (both runs in Viana & Caminha). Really fast zones away from spectator zones.
In Viana, where we were a guy had a gun radar, which showed that the cars reached a speed of 167 km/h. We were after the fastest zone (which we also could see) where the cars reached even more speed in a narrow downhill.
Some photos taken at the slowest places:

Tomorrow, both runs in Vieira do Minho.

Vodafone Rally de Portugal 2017 [May 18-21]

Didn't the same happen when Novikov drove with his bonnet open in Finland some years back and Meeke had to slow down behind, and got some seconds cut off?

That was Novikov's fault. Now the case is different, Latvala didn't slow down neither Neuville, nor Tanak. If they compensate Neuville, should do the same with Tanak.

As far as I remember people would typically get compensated if they lost a minute or thereabouts. Compensating 15s is something new, question is where you draw the line. 2-5s incidents happen like every second stage.

It so isn't. I can't remember any time anyone got their time corrected for that. It's bad luck like a puncture. Equal treatment for everybody. This is a load of BS.
