Tolerance of what? +-0,5mm is HUGE, unless it's for the rear wing...

I hope they did not make their engine components with a tolerance of +-0,5mm

They don't make the engine. TMG does.

+-0,5mm is huge, also for suspension components etc. Try to fit a bearing when you have a hole with such a tolerance...

I am an engineer so I am fully aware of that. I don't think he is talking about bearings because the car wouldn't run for the milage it has with those tolerances on suspension mountings, wheel hub bearings recesses, control arm mountings etc (which realistically are the only components they make in house... The suspension is made by external company).

It was likely just a random number thrown for clueless audience.

However if you saw the clip it was about the rollcage mounting in bodyshell, I suppose. You don´t even have to be engineer to understand 0,5 mm is huge in other parts.

Tolerance of bodywork welding, over 1000 different point, each +-0,5mm tolerance only.
You did´t notice that computer with X,Y,Z when they were making bodywork ?

Bodywork +/-0,5 mm is on the other hand very very strict. I doubt it's feasible to achieve but maybe it is.
