Given his tyres are actually more durable than the Michelin he could even win a bunch of time on the longer stages. Also the fight for 2nd will be interesting.
According to stage end comments - if stage long it better for DMack's, if it will be shorter there is no such big advantage.

Is Los Gigantes going to be shortened?

Even so, with current pace and 1 minute advantage it's looking good for Evans.

We retire again, as we found an oil leak on their car during service. Mechanics will try to fix that, allowing us to run day 3 under Rally2 rules.

This is not what we expected but fortunately this rarely happens. Our two cars, on a compression, had a heavy impact on the crankcase protector. We have to look at why we had such a strong impact there because we had not seen that it would be so impacting during the reconnaissance. But it's neither the fault of Kris Meeke nor that of Craig Breen, "said Yves Matton on the microphone of Olivier Gaspard, special envoy of the RTBF in Argentina.
Matton said this in service after Meek got there and he saw footage only from Citroen cars. This comment is shown Day 1 Highlights. Its almost certain he couldn't have seen the footage from other teams at that point.
Neuvilles car jumps basically exactly the same way as Citroens do. Latvala and Sordo avoid the bump completely by driving a different line. Ogier avoids most of the effect by not braking into it. Ostberg even has it in the notes.

That is case closed for me as far as blaming car only goes.

Note that when Meeke crashes the first thing they do after the car has rolled is they say that "the car did it". If anything they have a serious case of mistrust in the car.

nope. If we be in Finland where 60+ stages with 7kms each - Evans didn't have such advantage.

Hydraulics problems -> nonfunctional handbrake and wonky differentials, plus he lost rear splitter in some watersplash.
