Thread: Wrc Rally Argentina 2017

Here's my take on it!
This is a local TV production from Argentina.
Do they have experience with rally coverage?
Well the amount of high level events that would be broadcast in Argentina is one per year... So no.
Do they specialize in rally coverage like the WRC promoter team?
I doubt that they have only one job per year... So no. They likely cover soccer or other sport events for most of the year.
Do they have the budget?
Soccer is massively more popular, rally, comparatively, not so much... So likely no.
Did anyone anywhere promise the product of a lifetime?
Well... No.
We have been complaining for ages that the local feeds were not being used and that the potential was being wasted.
Now they have done exactly what we asked them to do and what happens?... People complain about that too.
I mean... Really?
It is completely voluntary to watch. It is bonus content, so treat it as such. You don't have to watch it if you don't like.
Rally fans are apparently the hardest people to please in the world if this forum is anything to go by.

First stage this morning is a real whopper. First 3km flat out then real tricky uphill sections over the mountain. Was very muddy on recce.#M-SPORTER

https://twitter.com/rallyargentina/s...71629920886787 The organizers are already worried about the spectator action on the shakedown. Let's see how many stages get cancelled :/

Sh*t coverage for a sh*t stage. Not an official WRC product of sorts. They didn't have to add it to the WRC+ service (not all local feeds are) but it's there if you want it.
Not worth losing sleep over - which I clearly didn't as I nodded off midway through the WRC field!RS Motorsport Media - Follow me on Instagram: rsmotorsportmedia

Just your average SSS I thought. There will be coverage of proper stages so no big deal.
Worth pointing out for the organizers is that small bags of sand will not prevent the drivers from cutting the corner.Last edited by BigWorm; 28th April 2017 at 13:16.

the start of stage is delayed...
why WRC bothers with usuless rallies like mexico and argentina ? they have far bigger problems to deal with than a WRC round....

Would it be better for Neuville (and Evans, I guess) to open the road on dry surface or with some mud? Normally in a gravel rally, the first on the road would hope for some rain to lower the sweeping...
