The entire sport at all levels is too small in Canada. 1 or maybe 2 homologated cars in the entire country.
Fun roads but where events go there's not near enough people or housing.. I have many friend there and wish them well and admire the lower key level and atmosphere compare with the truly "village level" (and I'm being generous as I can) we have in the US, but its just too small..where would workers come from?
Also the roads are by and large HUGE...speeds are VERY high and that's with very mild cars driven by people who could not do more than 50th or 60th place in a WRC event and that's the best of them..
The counties are all bankrupt or nearly so so for 30 years road maintenance on smaller forest roads has fallen off leaving only bigger 'county" roads.. As an example in 1996 in first ever Canadian nation, and event still run Perce Niege, it was -40, pure clear ice, we had only snow tires, non studs allowed and I had average speeds of a bit over 100km/hr in my modest little Saab V4 ---with zero grip...I spun and did a full 360* rotation and didn't hit anything cause the road was as wide as a motorway... It's would be very hard to keep most of the top 20 under the 80 mph/130 km/hr average...
Sorry, forget Canada, and definitely forget Fortress America (and that's not even considering the problem of getting people INTO USA with this moron Orange thing with the dead animal on his head that is in the White House we have elected).Last edited by janvanvurpa; 11th March 2017 at 00:42.
