If you've ever been involved in rally organising, you'd know that a change of a special stage number just prior to the rally (and this is, my God, the very first stage!!) would require a change of (almost) all documents of the rally (itinerary, supp. regs., road books, maps, etc.)!

On the other hand, I don't know who invented the "SS0" stuff since in the itinerary both stages were named SS1x and SS1y (not SS0 and SS1), no matter how strange was that too (SS1a and SS1b would be more understandable), but that's another topic...
    Thanks beta_racing. Good info!

I can't be the only person who thought this might happen. Big risk to do those big logistical movements within the event.

I was looking weather forecast. There was also some light rain in some places aronud today stages. Today will be dry but relatively cold for Mexico only between +20 and +25 during the daytime And there is already slight chanche of rain today evening.
And there is big risk of heavy rain on Saturday. Maybe less arund Leon and warmer there (upo to +24 degrees) and cooler and more humid in the hills, where temperature might not rise above +18. So, something to mix up a few thigs

I think it is because of result systems. Most of programmes has stage numbers ready as only numbers. Nobody expected "stupidities" with added letters...

I completely agree. One of the worst city stages I have ever seen with totally crazy schedule. Three hours of nothing. Waste of time for everyone. What a contrast to Guanajuato stage last year...

according to a guy in twitter the cars are 270km-s away from Leon, even less now so it seems they will make it just in time.

It reminds me of Rally Argentina 2007 when the crews were held up at the airport after the SS and lost a whole day of rallying. Hopefully they will make it to the stages today.
