When was the last time there was a Mazda 1,2 in a round of a NZ rally championship?

Points with 2 events left (Is rally nz a double points round?) Hawkeswood 88, Summerfield 81, Hunt 70, Gardner 67, Holder 58 (Have to favour one of the first 3 for the title)

28 years ago - it was also Mazda's only ever 1-2 in a WRC event. It was Rod Millen's only ever WRC podium. Bottom step of podium was the driver of a Vauxhall Astra named Malcolm Wilson in his only ever podium outside of the UK

Yes Rally NZ is a double points round.
Potential of 74 points still to be won. http://www.chrissport.nz/points/2017/nzrc2017.htm

Hayden has said on Facebook that the Hyundai AP4 wont' be a the next round, which I assume is due to the recent engine failure at Ashley Forest.

I saw and heard the 'Bayley Produce' R5 today, looks great and the sound of the tune is awesome.
