No such rule in WRC for more than five years. Even before it was 130.

I think the stages should go on. In the past average speeds have exceeded the 120 km/h you say above, so there's no reason to enforce them. In addition, Ogier always, no exceptions, will try to get his way by whining and complaining. Hell, the running order change was likely heavily encouraged to the FIA due to him.

But of course, he is French after all! I hate seeing that kind of behavior, like at the Dakar favoring certain drivers/riders!

Maximum average speed rule has been long gone. And wasn't it 130 km/h when it were in regulations? Now each stage gets a go when its safety standards are cleared by FIA.

Sure Rally Finland organizers have thought about this for well over a year now. New cars still doesn't rule out using normal stages. Maybe new stages are looked up from smaller roads, but I don't expect any major changes. Some spectator safety issues have already been addressed in previous years, like moving spectators zones in open areas a bit further as average speeds have got higher already a year after year. Outside spectator zones you should have the freedom as per usual.

Strange to risk it all when you are already well behind on time.
Nah. It`s actually possible too take it easy (like he allready done 2 stages) without loosing so much time as with the penalty. So still think it`s strange desisicion.

Stage is called Knon, not Knön. Knon is the lake on which Northermost end the stage finishes. And yes, that hell of a fast stage could write off some cars...

Mads' press release explains this: as the rally was over for them, better to give more time in the service, nurse the car and then come back for proper testing tomorrow.

Still dont agree. he had not lost soo much time. And things can and probably will happen too the top 10 over the next 2 days, he could well got a good position at the end. Now with the penalty top ten seems unlikely. Feels like he`s giving up.
    Never give up !
