They FIA or whatever) haven´t thought of the consequences of that rule. Gives only a way to gain more tyres for the rally, which I presume wasn´t the intention. And as a bonus SD being a joke. Glad I´m not there waisting time.

So everyone (smart ones) go to stages with two spares?

So lesson identified is that drivers need an extra "free" set of tyres for shakedown.

if the gravel comes trough...yes, why not?

please give us your reason for the shakedown times of ogier and hänninen if it is not tire saving..?

I no doubt it's a tyre saving rides. But we have same at Monte, Citroens save it too but they didn't get any advantage because of this.
Here same situation and I think with same result. Some fresh tyres still remain after rally

you are absolutly right, but the team bosses will always count on worst case....what if we have 6 punctures, what if the weather changes, what if we need 4 fresh tires for power stage...it is not logic and it will not happen, but they must be prepaired for any situation...

so the only solution is 1- give 4 extra tires for shakedown BUT take them back after shakedown
2 reduce PET to maximum 1 day per driver before the event

than we will have usefull shakedowns, especially on gravel, but with the existing rules it will be a desaster on gravel rallyes

Yes it´s called shakedown for a reason. If not trying your car properly you might loose that extra assessment needed for the 1/10 of a second differ.
