Josh Mcerlean saying in a local newspaper Ypres is a one off for the MSABRC. I think they maybe have a one year contract thereafter evaluating it for an extension or not..

Makes sense to gauge the popularity/success of the event before signing any long-term deal.
I'm definitely encouraged by the amount of BRC entries so far. Pretty much all the big names already signed up. Hopefully Cave, Greer, Yates etc will make the trip too and all the people who did put in entries fulfill them. The championship isn't exactly full of prestigious events with good stage mileage. So hopefully it will encourage people to sign up.
Overall already 20 R5s signed up for Ypres and the entry list is still early days I think.RS Motorsport Media - Follow me on Instagram: rsmotorsportmedia

The BRC organisers are probably keeping their options open in the hope that the problems around the Jim Clark Memorial Rally will finally get sorted out. If the JCMR gets a permit to run next year then it may back in the BRC in place of Ypres. If there isn't a JCMR, or if it is only allowed to run with restrictions that would make it unsuitable for a round of the BRC then Ypres could be back next year.

Weren't the Circuit of Ireland organisers originally looking to make a comeback in 2018?

Re: Ypres
Also a chance that the organisers are keeping their ERC options open, seeing how that series is arguably looking a bit better than in recent years at the moment.Last edited by dodge33cymru; 16th May 2017 at 10:03.

Since Alain Penasse is making quite an aggressive push for the TER project and so performing rather hostile against Eurosport I don't expect Ypres returning back to ERC any time soon.
