5 minutes is not an impossible time for Loeb to make up on three stages. All is not lost.

I kind of expected Peterhansel to get the time back... I wonder which year they will learn to field the cars first so these accidents will stop happening. It's been going on as long as I have followed it and the onboard warning system is clearly not working (when it beeps constantly you tend to ignore it after a while).

One went off the road and although I drove as careful as possible I hit its rear. And to make things even worse, he didn’t see us, backed up – and destroyed our radiator while doing so. This cost us even more time than an hour.”
