Loeb loses his 5.30 mins lead and is now 2.30 mins with 1 CP to go, maybe if he loses he dakar this year he will decide to hire a navigator and not a co-driver for the years to come.

Don't forget that at previous stages when all experienced co drivers get lost,Elena navigate him faultless and gained plenty of time.

13:22 Loeb wins his second stage
Sébastien Loeb has won a second stage victory on the Dakar 2017. The Frenchman perfectly negotiated the start of the special to open up a gap on his rivals before losing some time due to navigational difficulties which almost saw Nani Roma catch him. In the end, the Spaniard finished 44 seconds behind Peugeot No. 309.

the gap he had was due to Elenas work
12:36 Loeb opens up the gaps
The first navigational difficulties of the day have had an effect. Sébastien Loeb overcame them seamlessly and leads Nani Roma by 6’21 at WP3. As for Stéphane Peterhansel, he has had to search for the right track and has lost contact with his team-mate, who he now trails by 7’30

tomorrow is a stage where navigators play an important role... lets hope there are not many Mcdonalds around so he avoids deviations...
stage 9
Nearly 1,000 kilometres to cover during the day, including a small half in the special stage with 98% off-road for this timed section. This will be the toughest test for the navigators, who will play a decisive role. The verdict of this day could mark a turning point in the conquest for the titles.
Turned out to be an interesting race. Glad I decided to watch it. Too bad Logan went out. At least it was from racing hard and not his own mistake.
