Peterhansel wins the stage instead of Loeb. Peterhansel got some time back because he stopped for giving medical attention to a motorcyclist where he collided with..

Complicated step: - / There was good and not good. 1st part, 170km of off-road, smashed, big ruts ... Not super safe.
We have a little garden, like everyone else. We crossed quads, lots of lost motorcycles. We were in survival mode and we did the best.
2nd part better spent. A block, one could not attack more, not go faster. It takes time but not enough @s_peterhansel
5min50, there is only 1 real stage. It's a lot, it's complicated, but it's not impossible. We will give everything tomorrow # dakar2017

    Peterhansel

"What struck my day was having hit a rider who was lost, like us. He saw us arrive, he blocked everything, he fell and we arrived on him, he was under the car. I could not stop earlier. He was conscious, we stayed with him until the medical service arrived, but he actually had an open fracture of the tibia-fibula. "

Since when are Dakar organizers South American? ASO is French organization and the sporting director Marc Coma is Spanish.

And the Spanish have nothing to do with South America at all... Not like it's the national language at all in some parts...

But that aside, that does seem weird that you run someone over and get time back for it?
