Team Sauber sold to Longbow finance

Sauber has announced a change in ownership that founder Peter Sauber says secures the future of the Formula 1 outfit.

But Autosport revealed last month Sauber had found a solution to save it from extinction and it has now announced
Longbow Finance SA has acquired Sauber Holding AG, which is the holding company of the Sauber Group.

Peter Sauber leaves and Monisha Kaltenborn stays.

That's like pouring a drink onto the ground and keeping the empty can.

Like Monisha Kaltenborn should take all the blame for the fact that the team had no money for the past four years. It's a tough business for the privateer teams.

A finance company. That isn't reassuring. They're going to screw them harder than Genni screwed Renault.

I wouldn't say that she should take all the blame, but a significant portion of it is certainly on her doorstep. One of the reasons that they had little money was because they could not find sponsors - apart from their pay drivers. And one of the reasons for that was because more than a few potential sponsors likely did not want to be associated with a team run by someone who had developed a reputation for being dishonest (even by F1 standards) and getting into public legal disputes. The same thing happened to Adrian Fernandez's team back in the CART days. Once it was found that he was playing funny with the money in a sponsorship audit, his days were numbered. Tom Walkinshaw had similar issues, but he had enough charisma and past racing successes to hang around for awhile. Monisha has no charisma (that I'm aware of) and nothing in the way of racing successes.

Sponsors write checks in order to have a positive light cast on their companies; they want, and do measure, a return on their investment. Why give money to a team where the team principal is under threat of being arrested for contempt of court and selling a seat to multiple people? Given her history, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that she's sold the team to three or four other parties, in addition to Longbow.

Maybe, maybe not. I've seen claims that one or several people in the management of this company also have or
have had similar positions in other companies that
have been linked to Marcus Eriksson as his secret sponsors.

Said sponsors are rumoured/claimed to be Tetra Pak which originally is a Swedish company which now have their head quarter office in Switzerland.
