Hyundai is a WRC manufacturer, one can expect to provide a R5 car being fast out of the box, as all winning cars have ever been.
But let's wait and see what they deliver the next two days.

Development opportunities are quite limited with R5 cars so perhaps they should have done more?

But this is only one very specific type of rally, so too soon to tell that much yet.

I was criticised in the Rally Germany thread for calling Ogier an Asphalt Master. Doesn't today show it again ?

And did anyone really think Ogier would be challenged here, except maybe by Meeke ? And even before the puncture Ogier was ahead and managing his tyres.

The rally isnt over if you look below first place, which you must do in most events as Ogier is so good. There are still plenty of close battles for places, and maybe even seats for 2017.

You are right, R5 is not a starter kit, but still, 6 months against middle ages and 1year testing + 1 year racing. You can't say it is the same.
But as you said, it's just first rally. Let's wait to judge.

And so did Citroen you think? Hyundai have some more time to prove themselves. Be sure of that.
