    Race Retro 2016

Hi there, dunno if this the right place for this but had a canny day at Race Retro at Stoneleigh Park near Coventry yesterday. Lots of stunning static displays plus the fun of the live stage were the cars and crews get to have a bit fun.

Heres my vid of the live action, enjoy:

Many very nice cars, that are still being used for a bit of fun!

I went to this for the first time too. Wasn't massively impressed by the show/stalls aspect but I went primarily for the rally cars. You could get up close to all of them and mingle with the drivers.

It was nice to see Russell Brookes still fling the Manta around and give Chris Ingram a passenger run in the car too. Master and the apprentice type situation. David Llewellin too having fun in an ex-Kenneth Eriksson '96 Impreza. Didn't see either of the Higgins brothers. I guess they were there today?

I was in touch with Chris Ingram and told him what a legend the Manta was back in the 80's...

The lucky lad was also able to drive the icon, him now being part of the Opel team.

He said he would be going 'carefully sideways'...

Glad to see he liked my picture of the Manta.

They put fences on the apexes of corners for the second run on Saturday as they were obviously concerned about the grounds getting churned up. You can see them in the picture of the Manta.

It was quite interesting to see the biggest crowd around the Delta S4 with the British numberplate.
