    Hayden Paddon seems not excited

"I think Barum will be a different story, it's the one I'm least looking forward to this year!"

I saw that comment too! I think that his way of saying that the conditions will be quite unique and more of a challenge which I guess it will be as usual. I dont think its a case of him getting his excuses in early however trust he exercising caution again.

As a comfortable championship leader any event that famously has tricky conditions would be unwelcome I'd expect. In the same way that I'd imagine if Kalle hasn't already wrapped it up by then he would prefer Central European Rally to be a dry event.

Paddon has done perfect job so far in judging his pace and finishing all the rallies on the podium. I expect just the same in Barum, allowing others to make mistakes or have car issues / punctures. His mechanical sympathy and understanding have also been a great asset, enabling his i20 to cope really well vs the Skodas etc.

Perhaps Cais or Mares will change it one day?

Maybe even this year.. Mares had been able to run him close in the Czech Republic recently and Cais was quick on Barum even with a Fiesta.

For me, it seems Cais has been stuck a bit since his last stage crash on Barum and then the co-driver change. Maybe PLuto could say more about this, but unfortunately I can't see him challenge for the win this year.
