It won't be easy, but I hope you're not totally right this time! Please no rain or fog, let's have another sunny and hot Rally de Portugal...even RP's dust tastes good.

Among the teams / riders who requested the organization of the Vodafone Rally de Portugal your application only for the recognition of this issue, figure, although not officially, Toyota. As is known, the Japanese manufacturer will return to rallying in 2017 and the team, as designated by Toyota Gazoo Racing, whose structure was delivered to the Finnish Tommi Makinen (winner of two editions of Rally of Portugal), has been conducting tests development of the new Yaris WRC.

Juho Hanninen, current test driver for Toyota and already admitted by Makinen as a possible starter in training that will line up three Yaris WRC next season, was entered by Tommi Makinen Racing to the recognition of this edition of the Rally of Portugal. In the same list of riders who will collect "notes" in the classifications without, however, align the test comes another Finn, the young Esapekka Lappi (25 years), former driver of Skoda and European champion 2014 which is touted as the future strengthening of the Japanese builder.

Guys what do you think about the stages of this year? This year will be hard for the tires like past year?

for me it is obvious that Lappi will go to Toyota next year. Why all the recces ? I cant see him in VW like many expect.

Is this saying that Lappi was entered for the reccy by Tommi Makinen Racing? If so that effectively confirms his for next year. It's quite unclear - especially from the translation. Or are they just speculating?

Reading in portuguese it is possible to understand that they only talk about Lappi as a possible Toyota driver do to recent rumours. However from the article it is plausible to say that Toyota entered him for recce so think what you like.
