    My list of production cars to first achieve 100s top speeds.

    First to achieve:

    100 kph-1903 Mercedes Simplex
    100 mph-1919 Bugatti Type 23 Brescia
    200 kph-1932 Duesenberg Model SJ
    300 kph-1982 Lamborghini Countach LP500 S
    200 mph-1987 Ferrari F40
    400 kph-2005 Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4

    No 300 mph or 500 kph yet but they are getting close.

    The Brooklands Outer Circuit was 2.676 miles
    The prewar Avus track was 11.987 miles after the banked North curve was built

    I would consider those quasi-ovals but point taken. Kidney shaped Brooklands in particular was almost a pure oval because the opposite bend was usually taken flat out like a straightaway.
