Basically, the RRC is a WRC with smaller restrictor, a bit different flywheel, brakes and not as fancy aero parts as you can find on the WRCs; they can be converted to one another using a kit in 6 hours. The R5 is a much cheaper car with a 5 gear gearbox opposed to the RRC's six, it has many parts that are not custom-made racing parts but sometimes ones that you can find in street cars, and have a lot of interchangable parts particularly in the suspension. This results in that the R5 is not as bulletproof as the RRC (that's why he said RRC is better for gravel), but the R5 has more power due to the larger restrictor, and it has more grip as well if I'm correct.

The asphalt discs are for both 355 mm if I'm not mistaken. The difference with R5 is that they have also rear discs 355 mm big as they must have same with front axle due to the rules. Such big rear discs are not useful for braking anyway. It's just more unsprung mass. I think that WRC/RRC have 300 mm rear discs on asphalt.

In general R5 accelerates better and RRC turns better. And of course RRC is stronger - stronger suspension, etc.
